Seattle Central Little League Registration

Fun and learning on the baseball diamond!  Seattle Central Little League offers tee-ball, softball and baseball for girls and boys from 4 to 16 years old.  On-line registration and additional information can be found at www.seattlelittleleague.org.  Email inquiries can be directed to: seattlelittleleague@yahoo.com.  Registering prior to the skills days beginning on February 21st will ensure the best experience for you and your child.

Affiliated with Little League International headquartered in Williamsport, PA, Seattle Central Little League serves kids from all neighborhoods between I-90, the ship canal, I-5 and Lake Washington.  Practices start in March, with games continuing into the first weeks of June.  Tournament play, which ultimately leads to the Little League World Series, begins in July.

Many kids at Madrona play with the little league. Ask around your class, get your kids and their friends together, and let’s Play Ball!

Senator Murray Visits Ms Moore’s Class!

Following up on Ms Moore’s visit to Washington, D.C., on Friday, January 16, Senator Murray visited Ms Moore’s first grade class. From the Alliance for Education’s newsletter:

On Friday, January 16, Seattle Teacher Residency Mentor Rachelle Moore’s first graders had a special guest. United States Senator Patty Murray visited their classroom and read them King Bidgood’s in the Bathtub.

…..

Rachelle Moore was invited to speak with Sen. Murray. Both spoke about the need to expand opportunities for every student – starting with fixing No Child Left Behind… Rachelle reinforced the necessity of using multiple forms of student data, including test data, to drive instruction and assessing the needs of every student.

Support GHS Softball Girls headed to China

Madrona Alehouse, Wednesday, Nov 19th from 7-10
Please join us at the Madrona Alehouse (34th and Union) on Wednesday, November 19th to meet the three softball players that will represent our area (all have attended Madrona K-8 or Washington, and now Garfield High) in China in December! They are raising funds to pay for this once in a life time experience.

Come on out, mingle with friends and community members. These girls are exceptional softball players and student athletes. Two are alumni of Seattle Central Little League, one is a varsity basketball player as well for Garfield, and two play for Seattle Spice Fastpitch. We hope to see you there!
