Vote for officers and next year’s budget! It’s your chance to guide parent involvement in our school.
The vote will take place at our general PTSA meeting Thursday, May 21, at 6:30 after the new family social.
We will also be voting on a change in our standing rules around how we pay our Washington State PTSA dues.
On Saturday, May 16, Madrona PreK-8 will host its 2nd Annual Silent Auction during Mayfair from 10am to Noon. The money raised from this auction will be invested into our before and after school enrichment programs – specifically music and art. Last year’s auction was so successful, we were able to hire a K-2 art teacher (Tamia Sheldon from Arts Aloft!) to provide art instruction to our students. Tamia has been an incredible addition to our staff and the displayed artwork makes Madrona PreK-8 an even more joyful place. The auction also afforded us the ability to provide before school Spanish instruction and a Chess club for our students.
This year’s auction will include items like: tickets for 4 to Disneyland, Italian cooking instruction for 6, locally created arts and crafts, neighborhood experiences and family events. There is truly something for everyone.
If you’re not able to make it to the Auction, we hope you will please consider a donation to one of our biggest fundraising events. Checks can be made payable to “Madrona Panther Partners PTSA” and mailed to:
1121 33rd Avenue
Seattle, WA 98122
Or, an online donation can be made here
. Please include in the notes section, “Silent Auction.” All donations are tax deductible.
This year, we have 8 restaurants participating in Dine Out Madrona – Assimba, The Ale House, BottleHouse, Cortona Cafe, Cupcake Royale, Hi-Spot, Molly Moon’s and St. Cloud’s. Each of these restaurants has pledged to donate a portion of their sales on April 7th back to our PTSA. So, enjoy a coffee at Cupcake Royale or Cortona Cafe in the morning, encourage a trip to Molly Moon’s after school or get the entire class to meet for dinner!
If you’re available on Monday mornings at 9:30, drop by the Teachers Lounge to help the Snack Attack team prep snack for the week. We are especially in need of Middle School Parent volunteers. You’ll be surprise how many carrots and apples we can prep in an hour!
Join the Madrona PreK-8 Green Team in a work party to beautify the garden and grounds onMarch 21 from 10 am to 2 pm. We’ll be planting, weeding, and tidying up around the school.
We will have tools, gloves, and snacks on hand. Bring yourself and other helpers for any part of the work party. Contact erikaharris at gmail.com with questions or ideas.
