It’s time to go back to school, and that means it’s time for the Back to School BBQ! Join us on August 31 from 5:30-7:00pm at the Madrona K8 playground for an evening of grilling, playing, and catching up. Teachers, staff, and PTSA members will be there to meet and greet you. Come learn about the volunteer opportunities we have for the upcoming school year, and, if you’re feeling helpful, we could sure use you for set-up and clean-up. Rain or shine, we’ll see you on the 31st!
Come with your school pals and your families to Madrona K-8 for dancing, food, and fun! Friday, May 10th 5:30-8:00pm. Tunes by DJ Mr. Jeff. Kids, be sure to come with an adult. Why? Because…we are all family…and it is FUN! Celebrate:

Tuesday April 9th is the 5th Annual Dine Out for Madrona K-8. All the restaurants on 34th Ave open that day are joining with the PTSA to support our school.
A portion of all sales will be donated to the Panther Partners PTSA to support our fantastic Arts and Music programs. All you need to do is eat, drink and be merry! If you make a reservation, be sure to let the restaurant know you are participating in Dine Out for Madrona.
Also, consider matching your tip in the Dine Out for Madrona K-8 cans located in each restaurant to maximize what we raise for our students!
New this year: Madrona K-8 student art will be on display during Dine Out to showcase our talented Arts Corps staff and creative students throughout the school!
Please let other families in your class know about the event, consider meeting up at one of these restaurants for food, buy a coffee or dessert to take home, or whatever fits best. There will be Madrona K-8 families at each restaurant, so you will be greeted with a smile when you come.
Our fundraising goal is $3,500 for this event, and we need your support.

Focus Day, is a one day event where PTA Members from all over WA State go to Olympia to rally and show support for K-12 education. It is scheduled for February 21, 2011. This is a kid-friendly event, there will be face painting, sign-making and noise makers as we march through Olympia and rally at the steps of the Capitol building. Click Here for a flyer. Supporting the PTA legislative priorities takes all of us and this is a great opportunity for you, your kids and your school to get involved. Show state representatives that we care about education and that the state needs to do “its paramount duty” and fund K-12. Budget cuts here in Seattle are a direct result of state funding, or lack of it. Make some noise and come down to Olympia. Sign up today.
